The Green Economy Finance Facility Turkey (GEFF in Türkiye) provides financing and advice to help beneficiaries in the residential, public and private sectors to become more competitive and climate resilient.
A Green Economy is an approach to economics that minimizes the use of energy, water and other resources in production and consumption activities, thus minimizing the negative impact on the environment and climate. For example:
- Technologies that minimize energy use
- Technologies generating energy from renewable sources
- Technologies that conserve water and other resources
are considered within the scope of the green economy. GEFF in Türkiye supports the transition to a green economy by providing financing for investments in "Green Technologies", GEFF in Türkiye supports Turkey's transition to a green economy with €500 million in financing provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to be used for green economy investments through local contracted financial institutions.
