Turkey Circular Economy Platform members continue to develop circular economy applications and incorporate them into their operations/business with the support of platform tools. Benefiting from The Circular Vouchers program, Kadifeteks previously had worked on the reuse of acrylic wastes results from the production process. As a result of this study, 20 tons of acrylic waste annually are recycled and back to the production line.

Kadifeteks continues to increase its circularity and set an example for other companies by implementing a new study regarding the polypropylene (PP) waste generated during the production activities, where different types of natural and synthetic fibers are used.

In the context of this project, Kadifeteks started to recycle a part of their PP wastes. In addition to this, the company receives recycled PP from other sources following its quality standards to increase circular input in the production. By processing these materials, Kadifeteks substitutes a portion of its existing primary PP fiber demand.

Through the realization of this application, the company can recycle their own PP wastes and reuse them along with some other recycled fibers received from outside sources. Thus, the company reaches a high rate in the use of circular materials, which are gaining a lot of popularity.

By this project, Kadifeteks, a member of the Turkey Circular Economy Platform has successfully established an application under the “Value Recovery Model” of Circular Economy through the recycling of this synthetic-based material that comes from non-renewable resources and degrades slowly in nature.

The company’s application on recycling of these materials and reusing them in the production line provides serious environmental and economic benefits by significantly reducing both the waste amount and the consumption of primary raw materials.
