The launch and the workshop of Turkey Materials Marketplace took place in Bilgi University Social Incubation Center on November 2nd, 2016.
The aim of the launch was to introduce the project along with local and international best practices and share the project implementation process.

The meeting started with welcoming speeches from Canan Ercan Çelik, BCSD Turkey Head of Board and Adonai Herrera-Martinez, EBRD Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Manager.
Following Martinez, Özgür Şakı, EBRD Near Zero Waste - NØW Programme Manager, mentioned the scope of the NØW Programme which aims at supporting waste reduction projects in various sectors of the economy and explained how the Materials Marketplace project overlaps with the targets of the programme.
Andrew Mangan, US BCSD Executive Director, provided information on the project and explained how the digital platform is similar to the e-commerce sites that bring the second hand product seller and buyer together.
In the local and international best practices section Meltem Kurtsan from Ecor Turkey and Murat Ilgar from Exitcom shared their experiences with participants, which set good examples for circular economy.
Turkey Materials Marketplace digital platform was explained in detail by Campbell McNeill, Pathway21 Software Lead Engineer. McNeil demonstrated how participants can log on to the system with a username and a password and how they can easily search for materials or put them up for sale.
