Turkey Circular Economy Platform – 14th Transaction
Turkey Circular Economy Platform continues to support its members in identifying potential materials transactions and assessing the feasibility of implementing materials transactions through a number of technical support tools.
As a result of these studies, successful collaborations have been established among companies.
Two platform members; P&G and MGD Marmara Recycling have succesfully collaborated through The Circular Vouchers by completing “Re-evaluation of non-standard products, scrapped during production, for industrial purposes” project.
Led by Prof. Dr. Serdar S. Çelebi, the project included laboratory work for the development of new formulas in order to transform P&G's non-standard end products into new products. and research was conducted to define the appropriate operating conditions for the production of these. Within the scope of the project, product approval from an internationally accredited laboratory was also obtained for the newly developed products.
As of May 2020, 67 tons of non-standard products (detergent, soap, toothpaste, etc.) were converted into new products that serve as cleaning agents for carpets/cars etc.
Developed with the support of The Circular Vouchers, this project provides significant economic and environmental gain by diverting waste products from landfills.
